Grim Grinning Jim

HahnAs reported by both LA Voice and Chief Parker, the latest campaign cash filings are out. Though Mayor Hahn has more money in the bank than his rivals, a major chunk of his spending is going towards legal fees.

But another interesting fact has surfaced. That is during the last period of January 1 to 22, the Mayor only outpaced longshot candidate Richard Alarcon and the also rans led by Walter Moore. Even Bitter Bernie whose campaign was declared DOA a week or two back by the Times has raised more dough than Jimmy Hahn (in fact Bernie was way out in front in the donation sweepstakes for the period).

As one of our posters said, that can not be a good sign for the Mayor. The talk that has gone back and forth for months that Hahn may not even make the runoff may not be as far fetched as once thought. With a decrease in fundraising, increasing ethics related challenges that are diverting campaign resources and a lack of support from the base that elected him, the Mayor seems to be in too deep of trouble too late in the game. He could pull it out, but signs are getting grimmer and grimmer for James Hahn.

The problem is that there are no more contracts to sell and his prior salesmen, Stein and Edwards and Chang and everyone else is no longer able to sell for him.

What a bunch of damn hypocrites Hertzerg, Antonio both having fundraisers given by who else "PR firms. Just goes to show what kind of men they really are.

At least the PR firms mentioned in today's LA Times haven't ripped the City, let alone ripped them off of millions of dollars. Big difference!

Everyone knows the Mayor is in big trouble. Does anyone know who gave to his legal defense fund? Were they the big contractors who got him into this mess to begin with? All you Hahn staffers enjoy City Hall while you can, you days are numbered. Only five more months before you have to find new jobs. I hear Walmart is hiring.

If you think the way that you do about Hahn and his staffer, why do you think there has not been any indictments handed down to any of them, including Hahn?

no indictments...yet.

I do not think most Hahn staffers will be able to get a job at Walmart. They may be of use but I still cannot figure out what that is.

I hear Tim Mcosker may want to run for City Attorney in a few years. Is this true? It will be a grudge match between Tim and Jack Weiss.

Hahn staffers, relax and kick back. You've got four more years before you have to think about moving your offices.

Tim McOsker as City Attroney? Now that is some serious folly. He can not even manage the Mayors staff.....

Time Mckosker was the only thing that held the City Attorney's office together during Hahn's last term as City Attorney. He did a fine job in that position and was liked by all. The problem is that it didn't translate at all to the Mayor's office because of lack of experience and understanding in that position.

Tim would be the ideal choice. Weiss is a complete moron who thought by aligning himself to Antonio he would get key endorsements. He was wrong. He lost a lot of them last week. He needs to go back to law school. Some of the things he says in council are a joke and he makes an ass out of himself. He doesn't know how to play politics and should just keep his mouth shut.

So, Tim does not get balmed for any of the problems with the Mayor's office? As the chief of staff, it would seem that the blame should lie entirely with him.

NO one has mentioned this but Mayor Sam and Chief, the photo you have of Hahn is very old. The photo is of Hahn and at that time one of his Deputy Mayor's Filippe Fuentes. Now Filippe Fuentes is the Chief of Staff for Padilla. Very nice young man I may say.
