9:30 AM -- Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton will hold a news conference to announce the department's academy training program will be lengthened to include the deployment of recruits on community foot-patrol operations. Red Line Rail Station, Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

9:30 AM -- United Riders of Los Angeles (URLA) will stage a protest at the opening of the Metro Orange Line to demand stronger safety measures. Balboa Metro Orange Line Station, Balboa and Victory boulevards.

10:00 AM -- Dedication ceremony for Metro Orange Line. Balboa Metro Orange Line station at Balboa and Victory boulevards in Encino.
