Ask the Mayor

Here's the link to KCAL 9's "Ask the Mayor" segment from last night. The highlight was the question provided in the graphic.

The story from KCAL 9:

During Wednesday’s "Ask the Mayor" segment on KCAL 9, an e-mail from a viewer, Charles Davidson, was read. "I've been complaining about a massive pothole on Pico and Stanford," the e-mail stated. "My cries have been ignored. Does it take the loss of life to get the mayor to fix this enormous pothole?"

"It will get fixed tomorrow," Villaraigosa said.

Looks like the clock is ticking!

For those of you who would like to submit a question of your own for next week, here's the link.

***UPDATE*** 12:10 PM

The pothole was filled this morning according to KCAL 9 12:00 news broadcast.

Someone needs to ask AV to name by location even 10 percent of the 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH ORGANIZATIONS he supposedly started in CD14 last year.

Can you ID even 8 of them, AV?

Nope (because they, like your leadership skills, don't exist).

Most people who lie one their resumes consistently get booted out.

We can only hope!

Someone should now ask Jose Huizar about those fake 80 neighborhood watches. They are suppose to be in his District and he should know. He should state the truth and that is THEY DON'T EXIST. Everyone who goes to a community meeting in CD14 ask Jose about them. I'm dying to hear his answer

Loved this Daily News piece today.
Once in a lifetime
L.A. POLS TAKE CREDIT FOR DOING THEIR JOBS.
Quick, call in the cameras, send out the press releases, watch closely and notify the neighbors: Los Angeles' elected officials are doing ... their jobs!
For all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the filling of the city's 80,173rd pothole Tuesday, you'd think that Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and City Council members Wendy Greuel and Tom LaBonge have forgotten that this is the sort of thing they were elected - and get handsomely paid - to do.

Don't get us wrong: After years of neglect of the city's roads, we're thrilled that elected officials are finally taking potholes seriously. But let's get real - this is no heroic effort. The politicians were merely using tax dollars that L.A. residents have paid for just that purpose.

It's great to see public servants actually serving the public. But it's disheartening to see them act like this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience

Tonight I saw Villaraigosa on TV putting a Christmas trees in a green recycling bin. Villaraigosa is so desperate to have cameras on him at all times, I'll bet he's got people pitching a reality show where he would be followed by cameras day and night, along with a website so people can see where he is at all times. It's borderline pathological.

You're borderline pathalogical with your obsession with the Mayor on tv. You can't seem to get enough of it and then are dying to get on this blog to report it. Is your next step going to be stalking? Fer christ's sake, he's Mayor of the 2nd largest media market in the country. If he sneezes, the news outlets will want to record it. Please get some help before you do something bad to yourself.

So the Mayor says 50 crews each did 114 potholes a day. So that would mean that each of these city crews, in a 10 hour day, repaired 11.4 potholes per hour, didn't take any lunches or breaks and we're supposed to believe this? Is Tony a bald faced liar or is he on crack?

To the person who commented about "Pulbic officials just doing their job", are you going for that BS? It's much worse, they're not doing their job they're just declaring their job is done. If you scratch the surface of the report you'll quickly realize that it is patently ridiculous to think that a city crew can repair more than 11 potholes per hour. Are we to believe that a "pothole center" has been established someplace where citizens can bring in their potholes and have them repaired factory style? No, this is one of those deals where Tony jumps up and declares "I fulfilled my promise" and we're supposed to believe him. From what we've seen Tony makes alot of promises but when you check around you find out he never follows through.

You and a couple other's here are the only ones sick of AV. Wherever he goes the people swarm him asking for pictures and autographs. Maybe if you got out a little you'd notice it.

Actually 9:37, I think if you were honest with yourself, you'd find the people split 50/50. Some love him. Some hate him. Those he kept promises to love him. Those he lied to are still coming to terms with it. His supporters at LAUSD and UTLA are hating him right now and that is a MAJOR voting bloc. He fucked up big time there. He may have had good intentions, but he didn't handle it well at all.

He looks like a pothead!!!

The only positive about this guy is that the entire world is going to see him for what he really is...a publicity seeking media whore.

Now, if he looked like Harrison Ford, I wouldn't mind watching...but he ain't no Harrison Ford!

Hey, AV, keep up the camera mugging...you are making everyone nauseous and we are all sick of you already! You are your own worst enemy! Now we all know that there is nothing upstairs...what would you do if you lost your crib notes? You are way over your head this time! You are self-destructing in front of the whole world!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

AV looks like a pothead? Now you're stretching. Big time. He is gorgeous no doubt about that. I don't think anyone is getting sick of his photo ops. The unkept promises maybe. But too many pictures? How bad do you all hate him? Damn.
