Where the Hell is Carrmen Sandiego?

A commenter on the previous thread raises a great question: where in the world is Rev. Jeff Carr? Google News offers few clues and relevant blog hits are pretty dated. So, tell me. Where is Los Angeles’ Gang Czar? Informed comments and conspiracy theories welcomed.

I attend many gang intervention and prevention meetings from the Valley all the way to San Pedro and have only seen this guy twice.

Both times he has made quick entrance and exits like his boss Villar. Both times he had nothing of substance to say or offer.

Another at will position for the big check. Thanks again Villar for another one of your failure dept heads. This one you can't blame on Hahn.

Elysian Park @10:00 AM

After Chief Bratton takes the oath for his second term, I’m optimistic that Bratton will have the courage to tell Mayor Villaraigosa to take a backseat role and allow Bratton to run his Department. Angelinos only need one chief.

This is another story about the gang members around McArthur park, and of course many are illegal aliens. Mayor Villa-Estupido we need to start mass deportations. You stupid idiot, we have more than enough criminal cholos in L.A. we don't need more.

17 indicted in L.A. street gang crackdown

Brian Vander Brug / Los Angeles Times

HOOD: The 18th Street gang operates primarily in the neighborhoods west of downtown. Police say the gang is difficult to eradicate because its roots run deep in the neighborhoods, with generations of families becoming members. They are accused of conspiracy and of using violence to 'control, oversee and direct' cocaine sales near MacArthur Park.

Seventeen alleged members of a street gang were indicted this morning and charged with using violence and intimidation "to control, oversee and direct" cocaine sales in the area around MacArthur Park. The park, surrounded by poor immigrant communities, was the site of a fatal shooting of a 23-day-old baby last month in what officials said was an extortion attempt by street criminals.

Today's indictment charges the members of a subset of the 18th Street gang called the Columbia Lil Cycos with conspiracy, directed by alleged leader Sergio Pantoja out of a tattoo shop that he owns on West 6th Street.

Straight from the horse's mouth, "Not all gang members are criminals", says Chief Bratton.

The gangs have their territory and he has his. And never the two shall meet, best describes his take and probably that of the Czar.

Bratton has said that the radios the officers use are so outdated the manufacturer doesn't even make replacement parts anymore. Yet, Mayor and council refuse to spend money on getting them new ones. They waste millions on stupid crap and the Mayor tries to take credit for the successes of the Chief. You would think with South LA and the Eastside having more gangs then any other part of the city the Gang Czar would have visited those areas. Yet, no one has seen him. Why has he been hiding????? I guess its because the community are more informed about the gang problem then he is and he doesn't want to look like a fool in front of them.

Phantom mayor
We have the most devastating event occurring in California and our mayor is nowhere in sight. Doesn't he realize this is the best possible opportunity for a photo op, or is it that he is not concerned as to what is happening?

Oh, I forgot, he is out stumping for Hillary Clinton. When he comes up for re-election, let us not forget his concern - or should I say lack of concern.

California on fire
With all the press and attention that California is receiving as a result of the horrific fires, loss of homes, loss of life and the hundreds of thousands of displaced men, women, children and pets, I must ask, where is Al Sharpton, Roger Mahony, Gloria Allred, and where is our Mayor Antonio?

BOY ARE THESE PEOPLE SPEAKING RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

None of the fires were within the LA city limits, idiots. So would would you a-holes have said had the mayor gone out and hogged face-time on camera in other cities? You wouldn't have been praising his "leadership" then either. Get real and find something useful to do with your pathetic attitudes.

The bad news is, Carr is still trying to figure out the difference between Canoga Park and Highland Park. The good news is, the gangs have agreed to stop selling drugs and killing people until he is up to speed.

You would think today was history in the making with Bratton being the 1st in history getting a 2nd term. But what could have been more important for Rosendahl, Alarcon, Wesson, Perry and we all know why Bitter Bernie didnt' show up to witness the oath to Bratton. At least the others showed up. And who asked the womanizer Reyes who all of a sudden is supporting this chief. Antonio looked like a dried up raisin and now he's concerned for the firefighters. He sure as hell didnt' care for the last couple of days parading around Vegas with Hillary. Someone please kick his butt and make him a MAN

"Antonio looked like a dried up raisin"

" and now he's concerned for the firefighters.'

The two statements are not related.

He's dried up because he was drinking.

He's concerned for the firefighters because its a good excuse to get his picture taken.
