Whoo Hoooo we did it!!!!! A big thank you to all of you who took your time to stand up for our NC's.
A special thanks to the Education and Neighborhoods Committee, Chair Councilmember Richard Alarcon and members Janice Hahn and Dennis Zine who worked diligently to help NC's keep all but 10% our funding by keeping the City Clerk's Election NC budget realistic.

We will also be able to sleep better at night knowing we aren't going to lose police protection! This is a big win for everyone!

I hope people remember this when it comes time to vote in CD 8, CD 12, CD 11.

If it's not an outsider running, it's always the staff of the current councilperson. Remember how they voted now and don't expect their staffers to be different later.

It's actually the staff who is setting policy and making these horrendous decisions now, either hoping to get their way before they run (by eliminating the NC funding), or hoping to use this as one of their platforms when they run. You know, like how they will be so "different" from their bosses.

Good job Villaraigosa, who is the supposed hater of NC's. I think he came through this time.

I WISH NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCILS REPRESENTED STACKHOLDERS, BUT THEY DON'T. IT'S ANOTHER "GOOD OLD BOYS CLUB" WITH SELF-SERVING CIVIC LEADERS RUNNING THE SHOW. DEMOCRACY WILL NOT HAPPEN IN THIS COUNTRY TIL STACKHOLDERS RUN THE SHOW. PERIOD!!!

The City Council, as they usually do, had an all-day session on Monday to work just on the budget.
