Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Thursday

Councilman Bill Rosendahl is awfully upset about all the traffic on the Westside caused by President Obama when he came to LA to raise some money for local Dems.  Rosendahl wants a report saying that Obama created a lot of frustration with his visit and he wants answers now!

Despite a competing offer from Santa Monica County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky says that Eli Broad is absolutely going to build his controversial multi-million dollar museum in Downtown LA.  But hold the phone! Broad says that a post by Zev's web writer for arts and culture (did you know that County Supervisors have web writers for arts and culture? Do they do cooking shows too?) is wrong; no decision has been made yet.

A blogger in Woodland Hills is peeved that Dennis Zine has foisted a Costco on them.  He should have called Joe B.

Ugly Betty Pleasant gets even uglier.  Her latest? She "OWNS" the Black community.

The president or the Federal government should reimburse the city for their costs of the street closures and inconvenience.

Let's see.

Rosendahl KNEW Obama was coming to LA. Shit, he was probably invited to the event at Wells' home.

Do ya THINK he knew the traffic would be bad from the get-go, and is only NOW posturing about finding out what happened? "Who's to blame here!? I want their neck."

That's typical Bill Rosendahl. Not doing something proactive. Just feigning anger afterward.

Guaranteed, it'll happen again.

Rosendahl is an idiot. Presidential Motorcades have been traveling across L.A. for years. It's unfortunate that in this post 9/11 world the streets must be closed in order to protect the President, but those are the times we live in, and he should know better.

His anger should be directed at Mayor Antonio Free-loader and Eric Garshady who were too busy sipping champagne and hob-knobbing with the elite at this fund raising event instead of monitoring the situation from traffic control headquarters and trying to alieviate the problems.

Notice we haven't heard a peep out of the Mayor or Garshady about this situation. They're all pathetic!

Betty Pleasant is stupid to keep engaging MayorSam. The more he writes about her the more when you search Google for her Mayor Sam is at the top and not her paper. Thanks to Google people will learn the truth about this nutcase.

Bill Rosendahl is a coward who wants to "be liked" no matter what, can't stick to a position, blows in the wind, throws colleagues under the bus the minute a group of constituents expresses anger to him about something even if he supported that colleague earlier and stood in a photo op with him or her. I could name names but I won't for now.

But whether it's traffic issues, development or billboards, or more cops for the westside, he'll do and say one thing and then claim he wasn't told the ramifications or "I didn't understand at the time" and flip flop. Even if it means demanding more cops for CD1 at a public forum where that's what constituents demanded and then, voting to CUT cops when the winds blow toward reducing budget. Even though he was on the Budget Committee all along and should have known what he was doing before he made promises that would entail money then switching when Smith, Parks wanted him to.

Also gullible and flip-floppy on the medical marijuana issue: says he was for compassionate use for patients, then supported the extreme position of Carmen's stooges Jane Usher and Bill Carter.

Joins Janice Hahn on supporting every tax and parcel tax and then claims to speak for his angry about being overly taxed compared to the rest of the city with too few services to show for it (as they see it) HOA's.

Only possible good he can do: find a compromise between those who live in their campers in Venice and residents who find them a nuisance and health hazard.
Generally can't reconcile extreme "progressive" high-taxation views with demands of conserative, zero-development, no more taxes, HOA's who have demanded more clout.

Whether truly clueless or a coward or both, the idea he wants to take over a Senate Seat is absurd.

An old pair of flip-flops should be his symbol. Or maybe a tower of Jello.

I THINK THE PRESIDENT AND HIS COUNCIL COULD HAVE FOUND A MORE CONVENANT TIME TO SHOW UP EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER RUSH HOUR. NOT MUCH THOUGH, BUT ALSO NOT MUCH SUPRIZE FROM THE POWERS THAT BE.

We haven't heard this much bullshit about a motorcade since that ludicrous, overdone funeral procession of that dastardly Reagan.

Oh wait, there was the time that Clinton got his hair cut on the tarmac.

I guess the Secret Service just doesn't coordinate with the local police very well.

I'm shocked that any of you expect it to be different. Just within the city, no agencies know what the other is doing. Street services doesn't coordinate with utilities. They pave a street and then it gets ripped up by a different agency the next week. DOT should collude with Planning. If the city can't get a handle on something so simple, why do you expect the federal government to?

A suggestion that future post should read "LOST Angeles Hotsheet for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday" until Angelenos replace the current politicians.

I think we need to create a "Not Welcome" list.

4:14 has a point: when the gays shut down the heart of Westwood to West Hollywood to Silver Lake to downtown, so no one could commute home, and missed concerts downtown at the Music Center and so on-
Bill Rosendull was ALL for THAT!
