If you like Greig Smith and think he's done a great job, then I guess Mitch Englander is your man.
But if you don't like Smith, or what he stands for, there you have his clone.
Remember when Mini-Mitch talked shit about Higby's buddy Jim Alger?
For you newbies Alger was sort of the left wing version of Phil Jennerjahn.
3:22, I would hesitate before comparing a paid political operative like Alger, to one who has never made a dime at it, and whose political judgement has resulted exclusively in either last place campaign finishes or failure in projects like the recall.
But I know what you mean.
If Phil Jennerjahn and Mitch Englander were in a campaign against each other, I'd hang myself.
Shit, I'd even vote for Ed "Can't Speaka de English" Reyes or Jose "I'm a homie who went to Princeton!" Huizar.
Englander has a creepy smile like that idiot deputy to villar, Matt Szabo. Both are candidates for the gayest looking foto of all times sakes.

They do not agree on a lot of things.
If you catch Mitch in a casual setting and talk with him you'll catch him taking opposite stances than Smith.
I'd like to hear Smith tell a journalist that the DWP is coccupt.
Trojan is so far up Englander's ass he needs a Trojan!
Walter Moore might be able to beat Englander.
He got 41% of the vote for Mayor in 2009 in that Conservative, well-to-do district.
Clearly, he has a message that resonates with the voters there.
But he won't move to CD 12. I asked him.
That's too bad.
I heard there was a bit of a wrestle between Englander and Smith on who would run for the seat following Hal. The alleged agreement was that Smith would run first, for two terms (agreement made before third term limits snuck through on an "ethics" measure). Mitch would, in turn, be chief of staff until "his turn" came.
If that's true, it would make sense that they don't agree on various issues, not that it matters given how they ultimately vote on rate hikes, etc.

Do we really need another elected official who is a nice guy privately and an a-hole publicly?
Aren't they all that way?
I want someone who is going to fight me on the floor of the Council and not try and grab as much as he can for himself.
Give me 3 reasons why Mitch is that guy?

I said it on the GPWist that I hope I am not wrong.
I don't know if being the councilman will change Mitch no one does.
I can tell you that from my interactions (again, MY interactions) with him, he doesn't BS when it comes to something city related, he'll be honest about it and say NO or YES, and I've heard him more than once say, the people in the district won't go for it.
The only incumbents I have voted for in my life are W and Buck McKeon, and I have yet to vote for an anointed candidate. This is my first anointed one... I don't want to be wrong. But I could be.
Mitch has a lot of ties to special interests through his previous job as a consultant and campaign manager.
But who in this district would be better? Chelabian, and some insurance guy who has never ran for everything (Northridge's Alvin Greene)!
I love "election season". It brings out the very best in us.
Are we voting now? NO Mitch.
Wake up people....NO one wants anyone associated or aligned with the corrupt city hall gang. Mitch is a lapdog to the unions and developers. He already has the endoresements of all the city council and they should raise a BIG RED FLAG. Hell no!!!! Anyone but Mitch I say. There are grass root people who will run. Mitch is telling people its a done deal. NOT!!! That's what everyone thought about Chris Essel.
