Sunday Morning Hotsheet

The Mayor and his staff?
This headline in The Daily News "Despite hiring freezes, Mayor Villaraigosa's staff has managed to grow," says it all. With 206 employees the Mayor's staff is nearly double that of James Hahn or Richard Riordan and is second only to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's staff of nearly 400 employees.  Though Villaraigosa's ratio of staff to residents is about the same as his counterparts in New York and San Francisco (and double that of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley) those cities have additional health, welfare and education responsibilities located in the Mayor's office, duties Villaraigosa doesn't have.
Even though the City of Ontario wants to buy it and it's losing money hand over fist Mayor Villaraigosa does not want to sell LA's airport in that San Bernardino County city.  Los Angeles World Airports Commissioners were told that the Mayor opposes the idea of selling the distant airport even thought analysts say Ontario won't get back to pre-recession traffic numbers for another thirty years.

Why are you complaining about Villaraigosa, Higby? Who did you back in the Mayor's race in the last two elections, and did you do absolutely everything in your power to bring about that outcome?

I LOATHE Villaraigosa, but those who complain simply didn't do enough to stop him. Or, they voted for him.

12:22, that's excellent!

I'm going to use that, Joe B(ully) too. Of course, he will delete whenever Higby is away. That's yet another thing that makes him a B(ully)!

It's 12:30am, and Phil Jennerjahn still thinks he can beat Tom LaBonge.

PHIL: LaBonge is an idiot, but he's an idiot who has managed to be generally well like in his District. You have no chance of beating him. Thankfully Box and hopefully others will be in the race. If you stay in, all you're gonna do MR. NOPE is take votes away from the challengers.

Jennerjahn looks like he is going for the Triple Crown of laat place finishes. Mayor, Congress and City Council.

Wait, didn't he already run for City Council in another District and also come in last then, too?

KOOOOO KOOOOO.
I mean, SEMI KNOWN KOOOOO KOOOOO.

Joe,

What business is currently operating in the space where the Home Depot wanted to go?

Anything?

If nothing, then what do you say about all of the jobs and tax revenue it would've brought in, in place of the nothing that's there now?

If I'm wrong, and there IS a business currently there, is it employing as many people as the hundreds that would've had employment and benefits at HD?

Speaking of that, where IS the Home Depot nearest to this location? See how far people now need to go to get there?

And of coure all those poor migrant illegal day workers who have nothing to stand in front of each day. WHAT ABOUT THEIR NEEDS, JOE?????

August 08, 2010 10:42 AM

yeah Joe B! what about the poor illegals who don't have a nearby home depot to illegally solicit work!

or are you a nimby who thinks it's okay to have those illegals in other neighborhoods, but not in yours?????????????

hippocrit!

Jose Aguilar is a joke. The guy can't find his way out of a porta potty. He was kicked out of the Republican Party. How bad does one need to be to be kicked out of the Republican Party? It's not as if they can afford to kick people out these days especially Latino Republicans! Jose had to be pretty bad!

(PS: he hangs out with jerks like Red Spot, Zuma Dogg and Phil Jennerjahn. That tells you something si?)

Regarding Phil, maybe we need a 3 strikes law that would prohibit anyone from running for office again if they finished last three times.

Or Jennerjahn posting anonymously again.

Joe B is right. Jennerjahn posts here anonymously in an incessant way! Not tough to tell.

But the funny news of the day is that three days after Zuma Dogg Tweeted praise for KABC's Michael Linder, Linder gets fired.

Great, Zuma Dogg. I guess this proves that you're no radio genius, as you claim.

Maybe you can praise Villaraigosa now, so we can be rid of him!!!!!!

2:59, Zuma Dogg also attacking Higby for saying some crap about him, and then he went after higby, and called him a "Dark Slob" and said he should instead focus on his health.

Say what you want, but at least Higby is a taxpaying WORKER! Zuma is a drain on society.
