BREAKING NEWS! Daily News Endorses Steven Box for CD4

In a stunning below to an incumbent Council Member the Daily News has endorsed challenger Stephen Box over long time pol Tom LaBonge.

The News says

"Though LaBonge clearly has a deep commitment and historical understanding of L.A. and CD 4, he hasn't offered any evidence during his campaign - or during his decade on the council - that he can help the city reinvent itself during this watershed moment.

By comparison, challenger Stephen Box has."

Higby,

You told someone on an earlier string today that "Phil Jennerjahn IS smart."

I believe that Phil has done everything possible on his blog to throw Box under the bus because he (Phil) is a petty, jealous fool.

Phil also backs the wrong or losing initiative. I can't think of a single race he's called correctly. And he sure does love picking MANY candidates (Rick Perry, no, Sarah Palin, no, Meg Whitman, no, Chris Christie).

So, now that you've finally ADMITTED and REITERATED that you think Phil Jennerjahn is smart, my question still stands.

CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE US A SINGLE EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU FEEL PHIL JENNERJAHN IS SMART? The rousing success of a recall? His gambling? His hilarious political races? His quitting his LATEST campaign because he couldn't get ONE sigature on his petition after HOURS of roaming around the neighborhood? Not ONE?

HOW is Phil smart?

How smart is the Daily News? This is a quote from their weak endorsement of Englander in the CD 12 race.

"However, as chief of staff to a sitting councilman, Englander effectively has the incumbent's advantage. He's raised a campaign war chest of $444,000, filled with contributions from the developers, businesses and political action committees that bankroll elections. We expect that he will focus his energy on serving the men and women of CD 12 who elected him, not his donors.

It's also worth noting that Smith was elected in 2003 to replace his boss, then-retiring Councilman Hal Bernson. So there's been a line of succession of council aides in CD 12."

They clearly state that Mitchell Englander got him money from developers, businessmen and political PAC's, not the average citizen so why would they think that he will represent the voters? This is an outrage!

Stephen Box is level headed, has concrete proposals to big issues, has learned and mastered the process. LaBonge can't talk about anything else other than he went to Marshall HS, has been a patsy for the DWP, union pensions and is well known in the district as "my way or the highway" type of person. A long needed breath of fresh air is necessary in CD4, one with a brain.

Higby's friend is mad that no one is pushing O'Grady. Everyone knows what a time bomb O'Grady is.
