CD 14 Councilman Huizar supporter and HACLA Commissioner Maria Del Angel called upon to resign over questionable expenditures

Housing Authority of  the City of Los Aangels Commissioner Maria Del Angel, second from the left.
Eastern Group Publications is reporting that residents of the Pico Gardens Housing Project are calling for the resignation of Councilman Jose Huizar supporter and HACLA Commissioner Maria Del Angel, over charges of ethics violations, questionable expenditures along with retaliation.
It seems that this story has legs considering that KCBS Channel 2 Investigated Reporter David Goldstein was knocking on doors within the Pico Gardens Projects, seeking comments on questionable expenditures by board members.
More after the bloggin leap.
Two residents, Rebecca Guerra and Alvivon "Bonbon" Hurd (made famous during Andrew Breitbart's ACORN LA coverage) were shown documents pertaining to questionable expenditures by Del Angel and other HACLA board members, as noted by EGP.

Rebecca Guerra says evidence is mounting that all the commissioners have abused their authority and residents are worried that proposed policy changes will just give them more power.

Guerra, a Pico Gardens Resident Advisory Committee (RAC) member, was at the Feb. 14 special meeting of the HACLA Board of Commissioners where policy changes to the Housing Authority’s procurement policy were on the agenda. She and two other members of the community asked the board to not do away with open bidding and to initiate an investigation into Del Angel’s activities.

Guerra said a local television reporter who said he is investigating the board’s spending habits approached her after the Feb. 14 meeting. Guerra met with CBS 2’s Investigative Reporter David Goldstein at her Pico Gardens home on Monday, and told EGP that’s when he told her about HACLA commissioner credit card charges for the Ritz Carlton, expensive dinners and furniture purchases. “It’s shocking, I’m appalled,” Guerra said.

Alvivon Hurd, who is known to her friends as “Bonbon,” also found Goldstein knocking at her door with information about questionable commissioner expenditures.

“It’s really sickening,” Hurd told EGP, adding there is no accountability on commissioner spending. “I hope we can put a stop to this. You [the board] can’t keep doing this to us and you’re really not doing anything [for the residents], you’re just taking money and spending it at will.”

Some residents and longtime observers of HACLA might of advise David Goldstein to investigate the dubious doings in Del angel's former Estrada Courts neighborhood, which was the home of the $2,500 porcelain bowls. Can anyone say Grande Vista and Gustavo Valdivia?
Your thoughts..............

SO apparently, for the next several weeks... until Rudy Rich is back making sushi, anyone who get's in trouble in L.A. is either a HUIZAR SUPPORTER!!!! (or not - which case, you won't report it here).

That's okay. Enjoy Scottie!

Huizar's ILLEGAL POT SUPPORTS RUDY flyer will finish off the blue-haired vote north of York.

BUh-bye Rudy.

The "take home" edition of this game is called "run for a neigborhood council seat" like Red Spot. You don't even have to MOVE to be considered a stakeholder.

(Of course, since nearly ALL NC leaders in the district support Huizar, you MIGHT want to try it in Garcetti's district, instead.)

HEY, if he gets elected Mayor, you could spent $200,000 running to fill HIS vacant seat, next!

DOH!

Guess who else SUPPORTS Huizar...

Why, MOST of Rid Splurt's fellow NC board members in LA32, including (subject to update):

-Ruben Chavez, LA32 Neighborhood Council*
-Anthony Manzano, LA32 Neighborhood Council, Rose Hills Review, CERT, Vice President*
-Enrique Aguilera, LA32 Neighborhood Council; Greater El Sereno Chamber of Commerce*
-Angie De La Torre, LA32 Neighborhood Council/El Sereno Famers Market*
-Hugo Garcia, LA32 Neighborhood Council, Former President*
-Steve Bolland, LA32 Neighborhood Council*

Now what does that SAY about his PEERS and how little his constant BASHING of Jose means to them?

Seems like lying is okay if it comes from your guy Huizar but anyone else lies and they face your wrath.

Let's see if you call Huizar to task?

Here is the exact quote from the Blvd. Sentinel oct. 2010

"We are a Chamber. We are working for business. I don't particularly agree with it, (MMDs) but it's legal. As a Chamber we've got to remember how we're gonna set the tone for other business owners. If we don't like something we can fight it, but it sends a message to property owners and business owners. We've got to be careful of what we do as a Chamber. And we should think about that."

Rudy says he doesn't agree with having MMDs but there are legal ones that need to be handled properly by a Chamber of Commerce.

Jose lies when he uses this quote to say Rudy supports illegal MMDs. Just a straight out lie by Jose.

Typical politician lying about his political opponent.

So predictable from Huizar. He must still be worried about losing if he is attacking this late in the game. His "lead" must be crumbling.

Didm't Huizar, by his complacency and laziness - in effect support medical marijuana? Did he turn the other way or was he just a huevon? Unlike Martinez, Huizar had the power to curtail these pot shops, but he didn't.

But leave it up to Parke to spion everything his way.

Rudy the “RAT” as he is known in Texas has been an individual that Angelinos have underestimated. He is sneaky and crafty, with no compassion for L.A. residents. He comes as a savior, only to prove himself a fraud; yet I don’t understand how he continues to punk our elected officials. He surrounds himself with poor and ignorant residents that he utilizes as patsy'to take the fall. I hope that someone would really stand up to this “BULLY.”

Gee, poverty is profitable at least for these commissioners who as I understand it volunteer their time! Unfortunately, I have students who have related nightmare stories about apartment complexes managed by non profits answering to the housing authority!
One told me of her renovated complex and apartment being invaded by earth worms; accusations of having men living in her apartment when they were just visiting, and rude and nd invasive so called inspections that exceed two a year by non profit rep's inspecting on the behalf of Section 8! Some help! I guess contractors and others involved in re development are the true beneficiaries of public and private assistance!
