When Sanders talks about "Government Speech" he reminds me of Nixon saying,"When the President does it, it is not illegal."

This guy is one of those elitist types. The bow tie is a dead giveaway. He advertises that he knows what the City and the people need when all that the guy is all about is being a political hack. the old LA money way.

Mayor Sam, make him go away!!!

So KCET goes crazy over some advertising in the parks where children come to visit, but stays mum on LAUSD introducing ads in schools where kids are a captive audience.

Nice.

Does Barry Sanders seem like a total sleaze or what?

The public should demand his dismissal immediately.

He's a menace to kids and families who use these parks.

If he and the city are so concerned about keeping the parks running, why don't they use that $53 million dollars they;'re giving to Eli Broad?

Kudos to the last commentator! You hit it on the nose! "If he and the city are so concerned about keeping the parks running, why don't they use that $53 million dollars they;'re giving to Eli Broad?"
The corruption runs deep through the city of Angeles and people like
Broad, and their "hired hacks like Sanders" will retire with high pensions.
Thank you 10:11pm 02/13/11 you definitely know what's up!

P.S. Although the Mayor's political career is in the crapper because he can't keep his drawers up, he'll always have job security in the future and may return to work for Eli Broad as a lobbyist.
Meanwhile at the bank...

Can someone educate me. why did Antonio Villar appoint Barry Sanders to the Commission? There is some connection here beyond Latham and Watkins and it stinks. Enlighten me Joe or Michael.

LW lowlife Cindy Starret is all over this sell out of the parks. She needs to be run out of town at the very least for constantly shitting on the public.

Yes, it is time for the little bowtied dude to move on, and take his partners at Latham & Watkins with him.

This is a phony end run on our signage laws in LA City and I applaud Paul Koretz, Tom LaBonge and Carmen Trutanich for standing up and calling it what it is.

There is nothing "charitable" whatsoever in this "donation".

The signage is worth its weight in gold, and they are selling it for a mere pittance. Cindy Starrett is "pro bono" for the Rec and Parks Foundation, but is her firm pro bono for the studio that owns the logos? You guess.

It is good that we have a few public officials that will still stand up for the rule of law.

Barry Sanders is not one of them. He should be fired and prosecuted for conflict of interest violations.

This is to be expected. When you have a mayor who is insistant on whoring out every city entity, that type of message carries over. Even if it does break the law because Antonio is above the law in his personal and public life.

This is a city of whores waiting for a corporate dime.

Wow, how insightful.

You can tell who's elitist by their neckwear.

I'm (not) impressed.

I can tell you're a dolt by the way you end a sentence with three exclamation points.
