Afternoon Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

A Partnership in Educational Misconduct? Boyle Height's Roosevelt High School students find "extra-curricular uses" for new Apple-LAUSD iPads.
The home of the "Easy Cyber-breaching Riders"
A past Roosevelt Graduate (under 2.0 GPA) Tony Villar.
As a proud Abraham Lincoln High School Tiger Graduate, Class of 1984,  the recent media disclosures regarding the extra-curricular uses of LAUSD-Apple iPads at the high school that graduated former Mayor Antonio "Tony" Villar, is worthy of a bloggin inch, or more of commentary.
First, why should anyone be surprise (LAUSD School Board Member Steve Zimmer wasn't) that the current Easy Riders Student Body, would circumvent education standards and conduct, by showcasing their cyber-comprehension skills, in breaching the virtual security walls of the Apple iPads? After all, they share the same educational institution DNA as their former Partnership in Education Promoter Mayor Villar, who knew a thing, or two, about breaching walls of local schools in his youth.
Second, this proud Tiger can only ponder what if the likes of distinguish Roosevelt Grads, such as CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo, Rolando "The Big O" Cuevas and Tony Villar, had assess to iPads during their Easy Riders years. Think organizing a Dream Act Facebook Page for fellow Easy Rider Dreamers, creating a Facebook Page for promoting the East LA Classic Game After-Party and in Tony's case, "like" every Facebook Page of news-reading Telebimbos, respectively.
But seriously, this Tiger cannot ignore the irony that "iPadgate" is taking place on the same campus that was suppose to be the Legacy School of Mayor Villar's Partnership in Education, but is now a glaring example of what happens when the fiscal bottom line for campaign contributors, is more paramount than teaching civics ....... and ethics.
** With the annual Neighborhood Council Congress coming up this Saturday, we can surmise that the paramount issue will be the latest scandal regarding the DWP. As the likes of Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Controller Ron Galperin, along with City Clowncil Central Committee Members Mitch O'Farrell and Felipe Fuentes pledge to investigate, DWP IBEW "Goon Boss" Brian D'Arcy, gets thuggish with a female Daily Valley Moldy Green Sheet Reporter.

We bring you an Azteca Tweet from "Tata Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson"

Scandalous ... and LMAO! This coming from the reigning Azteca Payaso of Collectivist Charter School Education, Academia Semillas del Pueblo's Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson.
"Tata Mark(os)" in costume behind LAUSD School Board Member Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia.
Your public education tax dollars at work, espousing censorship of a certain "Mayor Sam Bozo Blogger".
** Blogger's Note: Please pardon this Bozo Blogger while multi-tasking typing, mixed with laughing my ass off over the above tweet by controversial Collectivist Classroom Indoctrinator Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson. It seems like yesterday that the husband of my former Lincoln High School Student Government Homeroom Classmate Minnie Ferguson, was being exposed by KABC 790 AM Morning Drive Talk Show Host Doug McIntyre (who would get sued for his factual reporting) for his Extreme Left-Wing, Racial Identity Political Viewpoints. Aguilar-Ferguson's comments, along with the assault against KABC Reporter Sandy Wells, ignited a nation-wide debate on immigration, but what went unreported for most part (with the exception of former Mayor Sam Blogger David "Zuma Dogg" Saltzberg), was the questionable fiscal background of the Charter School. Now in the closing months of 2013, its becoming more apparent to most that the supposed seed of indigenous-based education, is in reality, a fraudulent education scheme which have enable Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson and their selected supporters, to become part of the "Crony Welfare One Percent". But as more bloggin questions are raised and the investigators review the fiscal records, Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson's retort is to call for censorship and label a certain blogger a "Bozo", that coming from the "Reigning Educational Payaso", is a blogging laugh---Scott Johnson.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

We bring you this Public Service Announcement regarding a Downtown LA Protest this afternoon via a "Gorda Boo Boo/ Molina Boo Boo Production".
Its easier for LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria "Molina Boo Boo" and her Staff Deputy (and LAUSD School Board Member) Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia to choreograph this rally from the nearby confines of their office.
** Blogger's Note: Great Tuesday AM to our blogging friends as yet another Downtown LA Rally/ Protest is set for the Civic Center at the end of the work day. We want to extend this blogging PSA to all our Civic Center readers, to give you adequate planning time for today's 4 PM exercise in drumming, dancing, chanting and feigning discrimination, on behalf of the lucrative 1% Educational Collective, Academia Semillas del Pueblo, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson. We would not doubt that today's theatrics are being choreographed in part by the new Hall of Administration duo of LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria "Molina Boo Boo" and her now Deputy Staffer Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia. This in the hope of putting pressure on the LA County Board of Education and its Superintendent, to change their position in supporting LAUSD's Charter Revocation of the Semillas High School Campus. Thus, for those leaving work around the Civic Center later today, think of the chants of protest, being in actuality, a celebration of governmental oversight, done properly in the spirit of closing down a failed and fraudulent educational enterprise---Scott Johnson.
Now we bring you this bloggin disclosure in the spirit of propose new FPPC regulations, regarding "compensated musings", on behalf of political causes and personas (as approved by our alleged blog owner Campaign Consultant Eric Hacopian ; ).
Dedicated to the "Gatto Truthers" (BTW, is that Kevin Harrop under the foil hat?) at the "Burbank (Astro Turf) Blog".

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

The "Valley Moldy Green Sheet of Record's" (aka Daily News) Rick Orlov gives us the Tipoff on the meta-physical happenings in CD 14.
Were ex CD 14 staffers haunting the temporary Boyle Heights Field Office from the Political Afterlife?
Great Monday morning to all from the blogging, political cyber world where ghost writing on the behalf of your political bosses, is an anonymous illusion of commentary. But in CD 14, other ghostly happenings have caught the attention of longtime City Hall Scribe Rick Orlov.
As members of the City Clowncil Central Committee took advantage of another recess by jetting off to the far reaches of the world (for example, CD 2 City Councilman Paul Krekorian visiting the Motherland of Armenia), what were CD 14 staffers in Boyle Heights doing? Calling GHOSTBUSTERS! Or a LAPD officer who moonlights investigating meta-physical incidents as Orlov notes (** with our comments in bold).
For the staff of Councilman Jose Huizar, when strange things occurred in a temporary field office (like constituent services?), they called in resident LAPD ghost expert Miguel Lopez to look into the noises and incidents of bells ringing (unanswered phones calls do make noise) and fire alarms going off, according to the Daily Beast. (** this article is a scream but I digress).
Lopez visited the site and “cleansed” ( of the angry spirits of irate constituents?) it, and no further problems were reported (maybe the spirits were bought off with turkey and toy vouchers with picture of Huizzy?). Huizar spokesman Rick Coca said he went to the site while Lopez was there and didn’t see or hear anything (yet we see ghostly "Coca Puffs" all the time).
Even so, the staff was moved to offices in the new Boyle Heights City Hall.
And, Coca said, “there have been no ghost sightings (then where is the Princeton Graduate?) at City Hall, though a visit from the ghost of Tom Bradley is always welcome (sponsored by Sumitomo Bank).”

........ and a final, political cleansing may come in 2015.

** Leave it to the "LA Weekly of Record" to crash the Political Honeymoon of new Mayor Eric Garcetti with this missive on the "Top Five Worst Appointments" of former Mayor Tony Villar's replacement.

Outtakes from CD 14 Special Report: "Now Mayor Garcetti Staffer Henry Casas revisits Boyle Heights"

The Political Rehabilitation of former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff, now Mayor Garcetti Staffer Henry Casas, makes triumphant curb-side return to Boyle Heights (** notice gentleman in dark suit, on right of photo). But first, a brief mention of our virtual sponsors. ( kinda like a return call from your current CD 14 Councilman).
The Official Special Interest Billboard of "Outtakes from CD 14".
The Official $40,000 + Councilman Huizar City-Owned Toyota Highlander of "Outtakes from CD 14". Goes from Zero to a $500,000 Dollar Claim in a Happy Hour Evening (** allegedly).
.... and feature the Official Tracking Device of ex Councilman Huizar Staffers. (** especially during National Night Out events at the Hollenbeck Police Station), that provides bloggin fodder for "Outtakes from CD 14".
Mayor Eric Garcetti meeting the constituents in cropped version of LA Times photo.
Beautiful first day of Fall to all on this Sunday as we bring you this special "Outtakes from CD 14 Special Report" regarding a former Councilman Huizar staffer, who returns to Boyle Heights, in a better political ( and personal) place.
Last time we bloggin broached on former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff Henry Casas, he was an political aspirant, cut loose by his boss after his charges on domestic violence, who was the subject of a verbally-violent Councilman Huizar tirade, directed at another former staffer, Celine Mancia, during a National Night Out Event at the Hollenbeck Police Station.
Casas allegedly caused this incident by merely showing up to observed the festivities, soon after his termination as noted by an unidentified LAPD observer.
Hey I'm an officer with LAPD and I was there. We did see the incident but we had community folks come up to us later and tell us what happen. They were very upset, unfortunately no one on staff said anything when asked about it. To tell you the truth it makes me sick that he could get away with that. It might have to do with his sister-in-law working at the station. What we did see and what is all the talk at the station was what Huizar's office did to there former Chief Henry Casas. As soon as he got to the event they sent a staff person to follow him around. It was funny to watch. I mean they were on him like white on rice. Every one of us noticed it and even made joke to Henry about Huizar having lo-jack on him. Henry if you read this stuff you are welcome in Hollenbeck any time. Jose, I never liked you after your anti cop statements at the Ramon Gardens and after Henry left your office your stock went down even lower with us but to scare the crap out of one your young female staff is just the last straw. Hope to god that you never mess up and break the law in front of me because I don't care what management tells me to do, I would take you down hard.
August 06, 2009 9:33 AM

Fast forward to the present, and we linked to a LA Times story on Mayor Garcetti's curb-side outreach event, and who do we see in the attached photo? Henry Casas. In closing, we hope nothing but the best for now Mayor Garcetti confidant ........... and we are sure that upon learning this, there will be many smiles among the longtime employees at Hollenbeck.

Curbside Briefs with the Mayor on Scene in Boyle Heights for Friday

Mayor Eric Garcetti takes his "Back to Basics Tour" curbside in CD 14's ( and a certain local councilman home turf) Boyle Heights Neighborhood.
Meet your Mayor curbside in CD 14. Photo from Mayor Garcetti Facebook Page.

Pardon us for our lateness this Friday AM, but in the interest in providing the most up to date blogging coverage, we bring you curb side on First Street in Boyle Heights, your Mayor Eric Garcetti, reinventing the basics of constituent outreach.
Somewhere in the great political rest home in the sky, the late CD 14 City Councilman Art Snyder must be smiling upon Mayor Eric Garcetti, for this splendid act of community outreach in his old political stronghold. In his day, the late Irish Politician set the standard for constituent services that have not been replicated since, but today, Mayor Garcetti brought back the Councilman Snyder spirit with this morning's curbside visit/ outreach event.
We would hope that Mayor Garcetti curbside outreach becomes a regular event and not a former Mayor Antonio Villar-like act of photo op symbolism. That said, we have a few local topics to share with Mayor Garcetti, as he stops curb side on his Back to Basis Tour.
** Its still all about DWP Reform: The LA Times discloses another damning report on the lack of accounting for $40 Million Dollars in DWP Ratepayer Money that went into the pockets of DWP Administrators and their IBEW Union Friends. The issues with this "connected non-profit", is indicative of the need of open and transparent oversight of the numerous connected community based organizations (CBOs), that rely on public money for their sustainability.
** Preserving Green Space and Parkland: Just north on Soto Street from today's curbside event, community activists are fighting a "David vs. Goliath Battle" against the "University of Scandalous Conduct's" (USC) attempt to encroach on historic parkland to asphalt a paper street and widen Soto Street. Mayor Garcetti needs to pledge that no green space or parkland will be sacrifice for commercial development, and further, take pro-active measures to designate historic spaces (National Historic Status for Hazard Park, in honor of Educator Sal Castro), in the spirit of future preservation.
** Overhaul the GRYD Department and reinvent Summer Night Lights: The blunt reality of the GRYD Program under during the fail two terms of Mayor Villar, was that it was a tool of paying off supporters of the Mayor and not an instrument of decreasing the proliferation of street gangs. The SNL Program after five years needs a reinvention from its current incarnation of being a "holding pen program" that fosters community segregation, and not trans-communal inner action.
In the weeks, months, and years ahead, we will surely share our thoughts with Mayor Garcetti, on his repeated visits back to CD 14. Yut again, we must credit the new Mayoral Officeholder for this teachable moment in Constituent Services, after all, it was not long ago that an alleged, dubious act of "curbside misconduct", took place on the same street.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

The Former Men (Fabian and Antonio) of Mirthala Salinas take opposite sides in the alleged Herbalife Pyramid Scheme Controversy.
The Central Figure of Mayor Sam's "Sancha Watch" Mirthala Salinas.
** Morning disclaimer: Please pardon the absence of our normal cheerful bloggin demeanor, as this blogger battles a stomach virus. Thus, if our blogging content today takes on an edgy, snarky persona, you have been warned---Scott Johnson.
With no apologies to the poster girl for aspiring Telebimbos, we check in on the current status of the central figure of Mayor Sam's "Sancha Watch" Mirthala Salinas. Last we saw Mirthala, she was trying to salvage her journalism career in Riverside, after being branded as the "other woman", that send Antonio Villar and Corina Raigosa to Divorce Court. Judging from Mirthala's website, her professional rehabilitation is preceding well as she is again reading the news, in Espanol, for the 11 PM, Channel 62 Newscast.
We would love to translate Mirthala's take on the roles her "ex lovers of the moment" are playing in the Herbalife Controversy. But we all know what happen the last time Mirthala reported, on air, about a "lover of the moment".
** In the latest political faceoff between the City Councilman Paul Krekorian Political Machine and the Congressman Brad Sherman/ Assemblyman Mike "Lil Porno Mikey" Gatto Political Cabal, the Sherman/ Gatto Cabal was victorious as Congressman Sherman staffer Matt Dababneh was the top Dependentcrat vote getter in the 45 Assembly District Special Election. Finishing a surprising second in the overall vote, was Republican Susan Shelley, who will face Dababneh in a November Runoff.
** We put our current bloggin snarky demeaner on hold for the moment to bring you the latest "Regardie Report" via the reigning "Scribe of Wit" Downtown News Editor Jon Regardie. In his latest missive, Regardie chats it up with new CD 3 City Councilman Bob "Two Face" Blumenfield. Its refreshing to note that "Two-Face Bob" is willing the defy the past City Clowncil Central Committee practice of unanimous consent on issues, by simply voting "Nyet". Hopefully in the future, we may be treated to a Regardie Report on CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar pledge not to "play around" with the hire help (allegedly).
** Lastly ................, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANA CUBAS!! In honor of the former CD 14 Chief of Staff and CD 9 City Council Candidate Ana Cubas. We bring you this CD 9 Campaign Flashback as Cubas counts down the hours to her birthday bash this evening.
Mission Distributors may want to get the Bud Lite on ice early.

An Upcoming "Molina Boo Boo, Gorda Boo Boo and Academia Production"?

The Struggle to preserve Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson lucrative 1% Educational Collective is coming to a Downtown LA Hall of Administration Protest/ Press Conference next Tuesday.
The Academia Charter Denial Protests continues ....................

The moment of truth (or the full disclosing of education fraud) for the controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, will be upon us as the supporters of Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson lucrative 1% Educational Collective, gear up for another mass attempt of intimidation, targeting the LA County Board of Education.
As we previously reported, LAUSD School Board Member Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia was hired by LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria "Molina Boo Boo" in June, as a Senior Deputy overlooking the County Board of Education, apart from other responsibilities. Further, we noted that sources told Mayor Sam that "Gorda Boo Boo" and "Molina Boo Boo", were lobbying County Board of Education Members to overturn the Charter Revocation of the Academia High School Campus by LAUSD last May.
Its interesting that Academia would hold a press conference at the LA County Hall of Administration before there mass gathering at the Downey Headquarters of the LA County Board of Education, but it would not be surprising that Tuesday's Academia Press Conference and Rally, were being choreographed by the duo of "Gorda and Molina Boo Boo".

A Morning Brief on Assemblyman "Lil Porno Mikey" Gatto for Hump Day

We commence our Hump Day Brief with a Ron Kaye take on Assemblyman Mike "Lil Porno Mikey" Gatto's obstruction of proposed Porn Industry Condom Legislation.
The Porn Industry's Best Friend in Sacramento Assemblyman "Lil Porno Mikey" Gatto.
Great Mid-week Hump Day to all in the blogging political cybersphere as we bring you a Ron Kaye musing on the too-smart-for-himself Silver Lake Assemblyman. In recent weeks, "Lil Porno Mikey" has been fending off accusations that he is the sole obstructionist of legislation to mandate condom use in the Porn Industry. Yet, despite his multiple acts of denial, "Lil Porno Mikey's" intellect may have spun himself into exposing his knowing omission of Legislative Protocols as Kaye opines ....

What had happened was this: Back in May, Gatto, as chair of the powerful Assembly Appropriations Committee, put a hold on the bill, AB 332 (condom bill).
A month later the bill’s author, Assemblyman Isadore Hall (D-Compton) gutted another bill of his, one that dealt with regulating tobacco sales, and put the language of the condom measure in its place. The tobacco bill already had cleared the Assembly but when it was changed to a condom bill, it got stalled in the Senate Rules Committee because of what they call the “jailbreak rule.”
It is a long-standing rule of the legislature, one that is only violated in exceptional circumstances, that a bill held in a committee of one house cannot be taken up in the other house without the express permission of the committee chair, in this case Mike Gatto, or the Speaker, currently John Pérez.
“The protocol and accepted practice is we would not move the bill unless the leadership of the Assembly, meaning the Speaker, asked us to do so,” said Mark Hedlund, communications director for Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg.
Yet here’s what Gatto told the L.A. Times: “I don’t control the California Senate. I’m flattered, but there are two houses of government.”
And the Daily News: “I have not made any decisions. We’re really not quite sure what they are talking about. It’s clear they are trying to engage in some public brow-beating. It’s before the Senate. It’s not before me.”

"Lil Porno Mikey" must love hearing himself spin and deny but Kaye intuitively, sought out the Assemblyman for attribution, resulting in this .................

The key question was this: “How does the Assemblyman square his comments to the Times and Daily News with the ‘jailbreak rule,’ which is intended to prevent utter chaos and destruction of the committee system?”
In his emailed response, Gatto noted the bill was held “on suspense,” along with hundreds of others, “because of cost concerns,” litigation and enforcement costs in this case amid doubts about “whether such a law could ever be enforced.”
He suggested state inspectors might be required on film sets, saying, “Imagine a government official asking a filmmaker, ‘Excuse me Mr. Spielberg, but what will your upcoming film portray, and would you mind if we posted a monitor on the set?’”
He noted the bills, if passed, would not take effect for more than a year, so they would have no impact on reducing concerns about an HIV epidemic in the adult film industry and addressed the core question this way:
“As for the rest of your questions, I know even you can’t seriously expect me to try to prove a negative. The California Senate has its own rules, and I serve in the Assembly. I can tell you that the framers of our constitution put legislative procedures in place specifically to avoid hasty, emotional decisions, and prevent tactics that undermine the legislative process and committee procedures.”
His response ended: “It’s clear that AHF is trying to bully the legislature into spending taxpayer money, and that they don’t understand the legislative process. There are two houses of government, and I don’t have a vote in the Senate, let alone control it.

Did someone forget to stop the spin cycle?

The Coliseum Comission Emails Chronicles, Part 1: Where the Brown Act be Damned

The First Part in our Coliseum Commission Email Chronicles, where coarseness is vogue and the Brown Act be damned.
Former Herald-Examiner Sports Scribe and current Coliseum Commissioner David Israel, searching for Backroom Deal-breaking Nazis.
CD 8 City Councilman and Coliseum Commissioner Bernard Parks, the alleged, inept Nazi "Colonel Klink" of the Commission.
** Blogger's Note: Once upon a time in recent Los Angeles History, there was indeed a "Fishwrap of Record", not a "Otis Graying Collectivist Hag on Spring Street", but a "Hearst Examiner Paper on Broadway". As a child learning the act of reading, the daily review of musings from the best Sports Section in Los Angeles, was an exercise in vocabulary building via the likes of Allan "Mud" Malamud, Melvin Durslag, Lyle Spencer, Doug "Dougie" Kirkorian and a young sports writer named David Israel. Years later, Israel has parley his "craft of musing" into a lucrative life style of riches and political connections via his appointment to the Coliseum Commission by former Governor Arnold "The Kennedy Republican" Schwarzenegger. But sadly, a youth of today who was looking to grow he or she's vernacular via the latest Coliseum Commission musings of Israel, will need a bar of soap to clean the coarseness, a visit to the Holocaust Museum for lessons in sensitivity and most important, a tutorial on openness and ethics in governmental affairs. No wonder why Israel and his Coliseum Commission cohorts wanted back the documents given to the LA Times by an unidentified person, for the "act of fact-checking" is so easy when Israel's latest coarse and insensitive musings, are on the record---Scott Johnson.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

Political Baggage (and ex female staffers) weighing down on CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar?
Not even the Celebration of El Grito can bring a smile to Councilman Huizar. Photo via Mayor Eric Garcetti Facebook Page.

Great Monday to all as we start another blogging work week and with no further delay, we ask for a cyber moment of understanding on behalf of CD 14 City Councilman ( and BTW, Cal/ Princeton Graduate) Jose Huizar.
As one can discern from the photo above, smiles are fleeting for Councilman Huizar, even as his colleagues enjoy last night's El Grito's festivities. ( ** Plus, it would be hard to smile considering that you endorsed the opponents of now City Attorney Mike Feuer, Mayor Eric Garcetti, CD 9 City Councilman Curren Price and CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo).
Judging from the far away gaze of the Princeton Graduate, his thoughts are fixated elsewhere as LA Times David Zahniser reported late Friday afternoon ...........
The committee charged with investigating discrimination complaints against elected officials at Los Angeles City Hall met Friday to begin its review of sexual harassment allegations filed against City Councilman Jose Huizar.
The Special Committee on Investigative Oversight gathered behind closed doors to deal with the complaint lodged three months ago by Francine Godoy, 34, a former deputy chief of staff to Huizar. Godoy worked until April for Huizar, who represents El Sereno, Boyle Heights, Eagle Rock and downtown.
Godoy said in her complaint that she experienced harassment, discrimination and retaliation because of her “refusal to engage in sex” while working in the council office.
The committee is comprised of two academics -- UCLA Vice Provost Christine Littleton, a law professor whose research specialty is feminist legal theory, and Loyola Law School professor Michael Waterstone, an expert on disability and civil rights law; two retired Superior Court judges -- Robert H. London and Sara Kleban-Radin; and Alan Stamm, who represents the American Arbitration Assn.
But while Councilman Huizar is prepping his defense against the allegations of Godoy, another ex female staffer resurfaces, none other than former Chief of Staff Ana Cubas ( please muffle your fright-inspired screams).
Noooooo! Its Ana!
Since her trouncing by now CD 9 City Councilman Curren Price, Cubas has gone to ground, but rest assure CD 9 constituents, for Cubas wants to get "intimate with you".

"When Gorda Boo Boo met Molina Boo Boo": LAUSD's Monica Garcia new job with Supervisor Gloria Molina

"When Molina Boo Boo met Gorda Boo Boo": A new political working relationship is born.
Hillel Aron of the LA School Report Blog breaks story of LAUSD School Board Member Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia new job with LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria "Molina Boo Boo".
Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor Gloria "Molina Boo Boo".
"Molina Boo Boo's" new employee LAUSD School Board Member Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia.

Great TGIF to all, especially Hillel Aron of the LA School Report Blog for blessing us with this forthcoming blog post of political, tongue in cheek commentary.
Aron reported yesterday that "Gorda Boo Boo" has now become a "part-time board member" by accepting her new gig with "Molina Boo Boo" as we excerpt below (** with salient thoughts in bold).
In an under-the-radar move ( its hard to envision Gorda Boo Boo doing the limbo under a radar beam, but I digress), Monica Garcia has taken a job in LA County Supervisor Gloria Molina‘s office, which means she’s now a part-time member of the LA Unified school board (with still, a full size presence).
“For seven years, I did the LAUSD Board member job full time,” Garcia told LA School Report. “While I appreciated that intense focus on education, I took this opportunity that came through with Supervisor Molina’s office. I wanted to learn. I respect her a lot ( one "Boo Boo" to another). She is a model for serving for ( double predicate) the public.”

Garcia’s official title is Senior Legislative Deputy, focusing on three areas in particular: the LA County Office of Education ( hmmm, more on that below), the Probation Department and the Fire Department. She took the job in June, shortly before her six-year tenure as school board president came to an end.

“Certainly, my role changed ( elections do have consequences) and it did give me an opportunity to accept a new responsibility,” said Garcia. “Change is good.” ( and added pay is good for my bottom be ....., line).

Maybe her first responsibilities as Supervisor "Molina Boo Boo's" Deputy overseeing the LA County Office of Education, was an under-the-radar lobbying effort to get the LA County Board of Education to overturn the Charter Revocation of the Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School High School Campus, which was upheld in a vote on Tuesday.

Its been a open secret for years that Supervisor "Molina Boo Boo" had a favorable opinion of the El Sereno Educational Collective, but for political reasons, has never been overt in her support. We understand from sources that "Gorda Boo Boo" was actively lobbying County Board of Education Members, which lit up the political radar screens of those against the school. A petition against overturning the Charter Revocation quickly made the rounds and were submitted to Supervisor "Molina Boo Boo" and her County Board of Supervisors colleagues.

We will report more, once further documentation becomes available.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

Mayor Eric Garcetti uses AFL-CIO National Convention Speech to mend relations with Organize Labor, Will a "Brother and Sister, Cutting of the Bread" with LA County Labor Federation Strongsister Maria Elena Durazo happen in the near future?
Mayor Eric Garcetti gets lift from his Brothers and Sisters in Labor.
Great Thursday to everyone as the healing vibes of progressive brother and sister reconciliation fill the Third Floor Corridor of 200 Spring Street. The "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" ( aka LA Times), is gushing this AM about the pending healing of the riff between Mayor Garcetti and County Labor Federation Strongsister Maria Elena Durazo. What is the big surprise here? Mayor Garcetti was, is and always will be a progressive friend of true laborites, who help him win in May. Thus, the likes of local labor elites such as Boss D'Arcy, Bob Schoonover and Durazo, will only do what comes naturally, that is mend the political fences and push the collectivist agenda forward.
** While the labor progressives make up, the post election honeymoon is over for former Radio Talk Show Host/ Mayoral Candidate/ now Board of Public Works President Kevin James. James takes it on the political chin in a piece by superb ( and sadly), outgoing LA Weekly Writer Patrick Range McDonald, who reports on the secretive process of bypassing community input, in approving a new CD 4/6 Fire Station. We want to wish the blogging best to McDonald as he leaves the "Weekly of Record" to write a book.
** As McDonald sadly moves on from the "Weekly of Record", recent musings from its "Informer Blog" by Dennis "Bloggin Comandante" Romero, are causing us to wonder if he has become the "Lil Assemblyman Mikey Gatto Bloggin Informer". Follow along, Assemblyman Gatto proposes a Bill on broken parking meters, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses. Assemblyman "Lil Porno Mikey" stonewalls on Porn/ HIV Bill, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses. Assemblyman Gatto proposes legislation on Hit and Run Accidents, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses. Then yesterday, Assemblyman Gatto proposes a bill on Carpoll Lanes Assess, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses again. Maybe "Journalist Jill" should ask Gatto Campaign Consultant Parke Skelton to offset the "Gatto Bloggin Informer's" salary?
** Speaking of Parke, if his client is going to run for CD 4, he may want to look up the Silver Lake Environmentalists, who whacked declared CD 4 City Council Candidate and State Senator Kevin De Leon Staffer Steve Veres, with this opinion piece in the Echo Park Patch. Rest assure that Veres Boss proclivities to support plastic bags, is just the beginning of this latest John Shallman Consulting debacle.

The Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter High School loses Revocation Appeal Hearing

The Controversial Educational Collective founded by Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar, loses its Los Angeles County Board of Education Appeal Hearing, despite support via former LA Mayor Antonio Villar Legal Counsel, turned, Board Member Thomas Saenz and allies.
From the halls of the LAUSD School Board Chambers ( not Montezuma's) to ...
.... the floor of the Los Angeles County Board of Education, the look of Charter Revocation and dejection are the same. ( ** But the County Board of Ed must have a professional dress code).

The "Ethical Horns of Fiscal and Educational Accountability" are blowing in from the "Four Directions of Governmental Oversight", on the Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, but its Founder/ Executive Director/ Ex Officio Board Member Mark(os) Aguilar, still has friends within the educational establishment.
"Tata Mark(os)" and his followers staged two days of protests, leading up to yesterday's Los Angeles County Board of Education Appeal Hearing on the Academia's High School Campus Charter Revocation, recently approved by LAUSD in a 6-1 vote ( with Board Member Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia the lone vote against).
As Public Radio Station KPCC reports, unlike LAUSD, Academia had more support from County Board of Education Members, but the 3-3 deadlock vote after hours of discussion, was "Strike Two" in the Educational Collective's quest to keep its High School Campus open, with a looming "Strike Three" coming from the State Board of Education.
Yet, Saenz and his board allies fought hard, but at the same time, spotlighted some inconvient fiscal truths pertaining to the questionable finances at the lucrative educational collective. An excerpt ......
During Tuesday's meeting, board member Thomas Saenz questioned whether the school was held up to extraordinary scrutiny when LACOE staff pulled its federal 990 tax form or considered media reports. Staffers conceded that this was not an ordinary part of the process to which they had subjected other schools.
Board member Douglas Boyd said the major problem with the school's appeal was its inability to provide requested information - echoing a complaint by L.A. Unified officials who criticized the school for refusing to provide school officials' social security numbers for routine background checks.
“The problem is there is very little or no transparency outside the school," Boyd said.
From Academia's 2011 IRS 990 Returns ** Note that Mark(os) list himself as a "board officer" while drawing a salary. A major non-profit no no.

.......... maybe the former Academia Ally Mayor Villar and current MALDEF Legal Counsel did not want to disclosed the six-figures salaries of Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar? Then there was this from Saenz Board Ally Jose Calderon as excerpted below.
Another board member, Jose Calderon, rebutted the superintendent's criticisms of the school. He pointed out that while the school had a $650,000 deficit at the close of the school year, it secured a grant to cover it.

........... maybe Board Member Calderon would care to note where the loan (from self?) originated from as KPCC noted in a previous story which we excerpt below.
As for the deficit, Aguilar said the school received a grant from the Tzicatl Community Development Corporation for $650,000 that will eliminate the funding gap.
Parents and supporters of the school believe L.A. Unified's decision is not so much about its fiscal deficit or test scores, but about the fact that the school has stood up to the district.
Most recently, it refused to provide it's board members' social security numbers on paperwork that can be accessed by the public.
Aguilar cited federal laws that protect privacy, and added that if President Barack Obama doesn’t have to put his Social Security number on publicly accessible documents, neither should the school’s leaders.

Hmmm, not normally a betting man, I would be willing to bet in dominations of "Aztec Twenties", that the names on the Academia School and the Tzicatl Community Development Corporation's respective IRS 990 Forms, rhyme with each other ( ** See respective IRS 990 Page 1s after the jump). Thus, that would blow the horn on a fiscal shell game that transcends cultures, on the way to a court of law ...... and beyond to an enclosed, barred collective.

Steve "Mini Riordan I" Soboroff's Mouthful First Day as LAPD Commission Chairperson

From former Los Angeles Dodgers Owner Frank McCourt "Foot in Mouthpiece" to new LAPD Police Commission Chairperson, Steve "Mini-Riordan I" Soboroff has never been at a lost for words.
New LAPD Commission Chairperson Steve "Mini-Riordan I" Soboroff

Playa Vista Developer/ Political Insider/ Former Mayoral Candidate Steve Soboroff will never be the politico poster child of understating a given cause or policy position.
Beginning his Recreation and Parks Commission days in the 1990's, mixed with a fail mayoral campaign, a successful effort to develop the massive Playa Vista Project and a disjointed stint as the "Foot in Mouthpiece" for reviled, former LA Dodgers Owner Frank McCourt, "Mini-Riordan I" Soboroff has never been accuse of an understatement (maybe with bombast for added affect).
Witness the very first moments yesterday after his selection by Police Commission peers as its new Chairperson. "Mini-Riordan I" emulated his fellow RINO Republican mentor ( by taking a hasty policy position) in pontificating on his desire that all LAPD field officers be equip with uniform-fitting video cameras.
On the surface, the idea has merit and should undergo further vetting, but just espousing a new policy position for the sake of garnering column inches in the "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" ( BTW, just think of the coverage "Min-Riordan I" would be receiving today in a Dick Riordan owned fishwrap, but I digress), does not gloss over "big picture" policy issues that are of more paramount concern.
For example, now LAPD Commission President "Mini-Riordan I" Soboroff needs to reform the politically-corrupt "Com-Stat Crime Reporting System" that has seen LAPD Senior Lead Officers become political shills for Police Chief Charlie Beck's cover-up on the true levels of violent crimes in LA.
But even of more paramount concern, is the impact of AB-109 Prison Realignment on an already, overextended LAPD. "Mini-Riordan I" Soboroff should ponder what good video-equipping LAPD patrol officers will do when close to 300 Blue Liners are being redeploy from street duties, to deal with the ramifications of now City Attorney Mike Feuer's Legislative Co-authored "Non Revocable Parolee/ Non-Violent Offender" debacle.
We wish "Mini-Riordan I" the best in his new public calling, but as in the case of his former Mayor/ Mentor, putting thought before espousing, is better than swallowing foot.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

Building the "Huizzy Broadway Choo Choo" is going to cost an unexpected more, good chunk of change, try almost $200 Million Dollars.
Geez, who forgot the cost of the electrical infrastructure for CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar's legacy project to self, the "Huizzy Broadway Choo Choo"?
CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar after getting whack with LA Times Fishwrap disclosure of the estimated, additional $200 Million Dollar cost to build his "Huizzy Broadway Choo Choo".

One would surmise that a graduate of a top-tier university would have the conceptual abilities to manage numbers ( or massage them for political gains), especially on the projected cost of a proposed legacy project to self, whoops, meant selfless vision to reinvigorate the Downtown LA "Broadway Corridor". But we must remember, numbers ( or the truthful disclosure of them in the case of the CLARTS Fund), is not a Councilman Huizar "pillar of ethical strength".
As we hop on the cyber choo choo of background, we can recall that the Downtown News outed Councilman Huizar and his "LA Streetcar/ Bringin Back Broadway Team", for understating the true tax limit on Broadway area property owners ($85 Million compare to the publicly stated $64 Million). Thus, a Councilman Huizar mouthpiece, can argue that low balling estimates is a virtue as long as the end result benefits everyone ( especially a certain councilman's legacy, but I digress), as Bringin Back Broadway Executive Director Jessica Wethington McLean states ........
A representative of Councilman Jose Huizar, who has championed the project, said his office would "aggressively pursue" additional federal grants. Staff members also suggested that the Department of Water and Power cover the cost of replacing some utilities, such as aging water pipes, under downtown streets.
"We're not losing any sleep over these numbers," Jessica Wethington McLean, the executive director for Bringing Back Broadway, told officials. "They represent a 100% perfect solution, which is very unlikely."
She referred to the expectation that engineers will modify the plans to make them more efficient. That could involve reducing the number of streetcar stops or slightly shifting the tracks to dodge utility lines.

........ and judging from the image above, the "Huizzy Broadway Choo Choo", has been dodging poles, power lines and fiscal reality for some time.

The Academia Semillas del Pueblo Education Collective faces off against the LA County Board of Education.
The appeal process is running out for Academia Founder Mark(os) Aguilar and his followers. What will come next?

Former City of San Fernando Politico, Senator De Leon Staffer and current LACCD Trustee Steve Veres declares for CD 4

From the "Political Novellas" of the City of San Fernando, with a state pay check as a staffer to State Senator Kevin De Leon and moonlighting as a Los Angeles Community College District Board Of Trustee Member, Steve Veres want to be the next CD 4 City Councilman in 2015.
The affable and upward conscious, now CD 4 City Council Candidate Steve Veres.

** Blogger's note: The Campaign to replace CD 4 City Councilman ( and Marshall Gridiron Star) Tom LaBonge, grew by one today as LACCD Trustee and State Senator Kevin De Leon Office Director Steve Veres declared his candidacy with the Press Release below. Veres, as the smile indicates is an affable and seasoned political player. Upon his current boss State Senator Kevin De Leon's election to his previous Assembly seat, the insider joke in the CD 14 portion of the Assembly District, was that the Assembly District Office supervised by Veres, provided better constituent services that the three CD 14 Field Offices combine. That said, Veres will face the same political rhetoric the San Diego native Senortor De Leon had to endure, being a political carpetbagger. Then, surely, his City of San Fernando links, especially to the recent political novella, starring former City of San Fernando Politicos Maribel "Sancha" De La Torre and Mario "Tonto" Hernandez, are only a couple of You Tube videos away below. As a side note, we wonder how potential CD 4 Candidate, Assemblyman Mike "Lil Porno Mikey" Gatto, feels about Senator De Leon's staffer jumping in on his turf? Stay tune!!---Scott Johnson.
