In Search of .........., the mystical Jimmy Gomez for Assembly Reelection Office

As City of Los Angeles Employees enjoy a Paid Holiday in honor of Christopher Columbus, we channel the "Discover of America's" exploratory spirit as we go in search of the elusive "Jimmy Gomez for Assembly Campaign Office". 

Did the opening of the 2014 Assembly Reelection Campaign Office ever get beyond shovel ready or is the former Riverside resident making good use of his voluminous carpetbag?

Great Christopher Columbus Day to all as the City of Los Angeles pauses (and shutters its doors) on this Monday in honor of the great explorer and founder of the New World. Thus, this is a great day for some bloggin exploration.

Discerning voters in the 51st Assembly District are regaling us with stories of a supposed "Jimmy Gomez for Assembly Campaign Office" within the confines of the Northeast Los Angeles/ Unincorporated East LA political fiefdom.

The only lead we had on its location came from Assemblyman Gomez Staffer Frank Torres who returned a phone call without giving requested information regarding the address and direct phone number for the elusive office.

Hi Mr McGuire. .. i do have the cell phone for Frank Torres who is on the campaign team for Mr Gomez but it's through my work so I'd like to get his permission prior to giving it out... otherwise I will ask him for a number where you can get a live voice.  I know their campaign line is usually a voice mail.  I'll try and contact him sometime tonight. Thank you.


Some would question the need to ascertain the whereabouts of the Gomez Campaign Office, considering that he was running unchallenged in the June Primary. But underreported at the time was the Write In Campaign of Republican Stephen Smith, that enable him to secure the second and last spot for the November Elections.

With Smith now officially on the ballot, questions are being raised about whether Gomez is violating Election Laws by running his Reelection Campaign out of his taxpayers-finance District Field Office on Sunset Blvd. Thus, on the day set aside by the City of LA to honor a great explorer, we go "In Search of ........, the Top Ten Possible Locations for a Jimmy Gomez Reelection Office", as noted below (please note that with close to $500,000 in money on hand, a Assemblyman Gomez Office should come lavishly furnished).

10. Any Public Storage location within district, that has electrical and phone capabilities. 

9. A rented room (next to asbestos and lead contamination) at Legacy LA.

8. Unutilized space within the old Sears Warehouse Complex on Olympic and Soto in Boyle Height, with IT support by Uli Sanchez.

7. Utilization of Parklet along York Boulevard in Highland Park.

6. Stable space at San Pasqual Park along the Arroyo Seco where the Carpetbag-laden burro can operate a Field Campaign Office in comfort.

5. The defunct Oscar's Bar location on First Street in Boyle Heights.

4. The Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez weekend Echo Park Home, with Garage into Campaign Office Conversion (via the inspiration of LA County Supervisor Mark "Home Renovation-Thomas").

3. Unused table space at a certain "Politically-connected El Sereno Eatery".

2. Satellite Campaign Offices provided by current political ally CD 14 City Clowncilman Jose Huizar (who Gomez would love to replace in 2019).
