Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

LIVE ........, with Sound Effects via the City Hall Fire Alarm System, its the 2014 CD 6 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Nury Martinez's Holiday Season Presentation of "Disco Inferno" (with fake smoke and lights, allegedly).
Studio 51 (better yet, Florentine Gardens) comes to the City Hall Office of Nury Martinez?

A Gerry and Nury Guzman Production?
That was one, hot freakin Tamale.
As someone born, raised and still living in the Eastside, I cannot remember a moment when a Tamale (or Tamales) cause so much drama at a party ........, that of course, if you believe the spin of CD 6 City Clowncil Payasa Nury Martinez-Guzman.
Memo to "Wife of Gerry", generally when we want to get our Holiday Season groove on, especially when hiring DJs, with back up effects (lights, speakers and SMOKE MACHINE), its a good idea to choose your location wisely.
As your CD 14 Colleague Jose Huizar can attest to, their is only so much that can be done within the confines of a City Hall Office (even with modifications) and using a SMOKE MACHINE for a Holiday Party, is not a good option as you surely know (and CD 6 voters will at Election Time) by now.
** Memo to Mayor Eric Garcetti, kudos on your plan that calls for the purchase of 7,000 Body Cameras for use by LAPD. But can we modify the purchase number to 7,018? Think one camera for each Elected Officeholder, so that taxpayers can view how our City Clowncil, along with the City Attorney, City Controller and Yourself, are conducting themselves on City Time.
Sparking anger from business groups, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer’s Office worked with advocates for hotel workers to draft a law benefiting the workers, new emails show.
Two hotel groups suing the city over the law released emails from a public records request Tuesday showing a series of exchanges between lawyers in Feuer’s office and James Elmendorf, deputy director of Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, which advocates for the creation of middle-class jobs and pushed for the new hotel law. The emails show how Elmendorf and Rich McCracken, an attorney for the union representing hotel workers, offered input on the ordinance’s language. Elmendorf was also given a draft of the ordinance before it was made publicly available, he confirmed Tuesday.

** Continuing on the topic of costing the taxpayers, the City of LA has agreed to a Settlement with the Family of Gary Woodford, who was struck and killed when hit by the city-owned Prius being driven by then Clowncil Richard AlarCON Staffer Manny Figueras. The Settlement comes after Figueras pleaded No Contest to a Misdemeanor Vehicular Manslaughter.

Your Thoughts ..............

Why were his charges so low? 40hours of community service for murder?
