HOT Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

With NO apologies to LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and Captain Jeffery Bert, the attempted prosecution of local Journalist (and noted LAPD observer) Jasmyne Cannick for "Failure to Disperse", has been Dismissed by the City Attorney.
Jasmyne Cannick is all smiles in exposing LAPD Chief Charlie Beck's alleged, Act of Retaliation against her, now Dismissed.
** Note to former LAPD Northeast Division Captain Jeffery Bert, next time you are delegated the task of overseeing the "Dispersing of a Unlawful Assembly", the following of proper documentation protocols should be paramount, in wake of the Dismissal of Failure to Disperse Charges against Journalist Jasmyne Cannick. The fact that the leadership-challenged Captain Bert would forget a simple formality of policy (and the role it played in the attempted retaliation of Cannick) is the latest example of the Dysfunction within the Command Administration of Chief Charlie Beck (which Cannick has done a great job in documenting via her blog), and is surely going to increase the number of those who will call upon Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City Council to replace the current Chief.
$12,000 in choices to recycle Broken Deal Cedillo's Pledges.
** From Facebook Page of "Figueroa for All", we bring the "Multi-cultural Celebration (nice way of saying Rent a Mob)" for CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo's $4,000 Solar Trash Containers. For us longtime, neighboring CD 14 observers, we cannot help ourselves in flashing back to those lucrative times for the likes of "Broken Deal Cedillo" Crony Gabriel Buelna's (former?) business partner Gustavo Valdivia. Valdivia's Grande Vista Associates benefited from No-bid Contracts that included billing the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) $2,500 to install a toilet. BTW  the friends of BDC at MAPA have a fine to pay .....,In the Matter of Mexican American Political Association-PAC to Support Gil Cedillo for L.A. Council 2013; FPPC No. 15/486. Staff: Senior Commission Counsel Bridgette Castillo. Mexican American Political Association-PAC to Support Gil Cedillo for L.A. Council 2013 failed to pay the 2013 $50.00 annual fee to the Secretary of State’s Office, in violation of Government Code Section 84101.5. Total Proposed Penalty: $200.
AHHHHH!! $200 less for the Happy Hour Fun(d).
** With another week of Happy Hours upon us, we can understand the look of consternation above via former CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Chief of Staff Ana Cubas. In 2013, with the "blessing" of her former Boss, Cubas ran unsuccessfully for City Council via CD 9 ........, and according to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), she has reports overdue, necessitating a $200 Fine. In the Matter of Ana Cubas for Los Angeles City Council District 9 2013; FPPC No. 15/708. Staff: Commission Counsel Michael W. Hamilton. Ana Cubas for Los Angeles City Council District 9 2013 failed to pay the 2013 $50.00 annual fee to the Secretary of State’s Office, in violation of Government Code Section 84101.5. Total Proposed Penalty: $200.
